Orion Marine Group Pasadena, Texas Beard was awarded a contract to haul and place material for levee construction. Scope of work included clearing and grubbing 100 acres and excavating 500,000 cubic yards of material to raise levees.
Beard was awarded multiple contracts associated with the construction of a new liquid gas transfer facility for Murphy Energy. The facility will be used to unload petroleum products from 18-wheel tank trucks, store them and pump them through a 6-inch pipeline under the highway to the Colonial Pipeline facility located across the highway. Beard’s scope of work included site preparation, concrete paving, infrastructure and asphalt turning lane for the 30-acre liquid gas transfer facility.
Beard Construction Group, LLC was awarded multiple contracts associated with Impala’s A-G Coal & Bulk Materials Terminal Restart/Expansion. Trafigura/Impala plans to invest around $100 Million to reopen the currently idled Burnside facility as a state-of-the-art major bulk terminal for coal, bauxite and alumina. It will be only the fourth facility—and the only one with the possibility of both rail-to-vessel and barge-to-vessel capabilities—on the Mississippi and is set to become one of the top ten coal and bulk logistics facilities in the USA.
Beard was awarded contracts to perform the site preparation, storm drainage and base course for Nucor Steel Louisiana’s $750 million direct reduced iron (DRI) facility in Convent, LA. Upon completion, the iron making facility will produce 2,500,000 tons-per-year.
Beard was awarded the site-work and underground utilities package for Myriant Technologies’ Bio-Succinic Acid Plant in Lake Providence, Louisiana. Upon completion, the plant will produce 30 million pounds of bio-succinic acid annually and be the largest facilitiy of its kind in the United States.
Beard was awarded the $5.18 Million contract for the Warehouse Building #1 Truck Dock and Interior Roads & Paving project at SNF’s new $400 million Plaquemine Polymer Plant. Construction activities included fine grading, installation of 6” of #57 limestone, 8” paving and trenches for interior roads, truck dock, and paving around buildings. Additional contracts were awarded, totaling $7.29 Million.
Beard was awarded a contract to construct a new solid waste disposal unit at DuPont’s DeLisle Plant, which included site preparation; clearing/grubbing; silt fence installation; clay excavation & stockpile; embankment; limestone for top of road berms; compacted clay liner; geosynthetic clay liner; 542,000 SF of 60 mil flexible membrane liner; composite drainage layer; 20,100 CY 12″ protective layer; topsoil; leachate collection system; erosion control, etc.
Georgia-Pacific awarded Beard Construction Group, LLC the site-work for the Towel and Tissue Paper Machine Addition project at their Port Hudson mill in Zachary, LA. The scope of work includes excavation and embankment, imported fill material, limestone, and installation of the well water system, firewater system and storm sewer system.
Beard Construction Group, LLC was awarded the $3 Million contract to perform site-work associated with Georgia-Pacific’s Towel and Tissue Paper Machine Addition project at their Integrated Pulp and Paper Mill in Crossett, Arkansas. Beard was awarded an additional $2 Million contract for the site utilities and additional parking.
Stueve Construction Company awarded Beardthe $2.6 million contract to perform the site-work for a new dry fertilizer storage building with truck and rail shipping access, located on a 50 Acre site in St. James Parish, Louisiana. Yara’s new warehouse will provide local markets direct access to imported fertilizer, as well as increased access for rail-served agricultural markets.
Beard was awarded the contract to construct a 30 acre site consisting of three brine pond storage facility to support an underground gas storage cavern. The brine ponds included primary east pond, a primary west pond and a secondary pond all lined with a conductive HDPE liner for leak detection. The facility will be adding a compressor station and for the storage and transport of natural gas.
In addition to a 30 acre site work contract to construct brine ponds, Beard was awarded the contract to construct an additional 40 acre site which will support the administrative and operations building, a pipeline interconnection, a compressor station and two underground commercial storage cavern for storing natural gas. This was a FERC approved facility.
Beard was awarded the $5.6 million contract to develop the twenty acre site of ADA’s first Activated Carbon production facility. Beard was awarded an additional $2.4 Million contract for the installation of fire water and storm sewer piping.
BCG was awarded the $12.25 million civil contract for the Flare Gas Control Project, which included construction of concrete compressor foundations, pipe rack foundations, flow metering platforms and miscellaneous supports at ExxonMobil’s Beaumont Refinery.
Shintech Louisiana, LLC awarded Beard Construction Group the $4.36 million contract for site development at the new Shintech manufacturing facility located on an 80 acre site in Plaquemine, LA. The scope of work includes site clearing and grubbing, demolition, erosion control, stripping, cut/fill grading, firewater loop installation, site drainage, stabilization, and stone road installation. Beard was awarded an additional $3.8 million for activities which included backfilling the rainwater reservoir, building new roads with associated drainage piping, new concrete pump pit, underground piping and new firewater piping.
Marchand Construction subcontracted the mass grading scope of work to Beard for the construction of a new bottling facility for Coca-Cola. The mass grading included: clearing, grubbing, stripping, excavation, embankment and the storm-water drainage. Beard performed additional site-work, roads, and concrete, which was added to the original scope of work and contract.
Beard was awarded the civil construction for a new plant facility which will provide aluminum based chemicals to the Criterion facility in Port Allen, Louisiana.
Beard Construction Group was awarded the site preparation for a new solid fuel 600 MW generating unit to be located on a 50 acre site at Cleco’s Rodemacher Power Station. The scope of work included site preparation, parking, lay-down area, conveyor access route, barge unloading facility and the storm water drainage system. The project has been published in Construction Executive magazine as one of “2007’s Notable Projects”.
Occidental Chemical awarded Beard Construction Group the civil contract which included underground piping, concrete foundations and structural steel erection for Phase I of the KOH Conversion Project at the Occidental Chemical plant in Taft, LA.
Mississippi Power awarded Beard Construction Group a $3.4 million contract to construct the North Ash Management Unit comprised of a 30 acre cell, 3 acre runoff pond , leachate collection system, pumping structure, 3200 LF haul road extension, concrete outfall structure, wheel wash system, and a MCC Building.
